Sigh... I'm reminded of that old Tamil quote, "Ethanai Kodi Inbangal Vaithullai Iraiva Iv Vaiyagathile".

The list of things that I must read keeps growing without bounds; no matter how many items I knock off the list in an attempt to keep it manageable, it just doesn't happen.

Chomsky's Thesis is one more addition to the list.

Hopefully I read it in my lifetime.

I have just downloaded it. I wonder why they did not put up files of smaller sizes. Downloading a single file of larger size always poses a problem.

When am I going to start reading?

Soon.... :-)

Chencottah,

may be the test is how serious are you to download, forget the possible reading. The resolve of Vikramarka (as in Vikram-Bhetala stories) or at least that of a resolute & successful Ghajini is necessary!!

Thanks CCG for your considerate comments!! :-)

I wonder who it was who wrote a thesis about how the emotions conveyed in movies can be represented as a linear equation in a few variables, the variables being 'happiness', 'anger' and so on...

I've never read this piece of work, I don't even know if it exists! An unsavoury character that I once knew told me that it was Kurt Vonnegut, but I have been unable to verify this claim.

Kovai,

what i know is the following:

There are only 6 or 7 basic stories (much like primary colours RBG) and any other story is a mix of these.

Heard it from a film personality.

Bible does not agree if you say there are five senses and nor do I agree if there are only Navarasaas (9 emotions) according to the website and definitely not list of 9 most famous fruit juices!

@CCG:

Yep, that's pretty much what that thesis was also (supposedly) saying!

Navarasam could also be Milagu, Paruppu, ElumichaipPazham, Kothamalli, Mysore, Kollu and I don't know what else ;)
