Smt. Kishori Amonkar paid, perhaps, the highest tribute ever possible at the time when the Bharat Ratna, the highest honour in the country, was bestowed on MS by calling her the eighth swara of Indian Music.

It's a very poetic compliment.
Hopefully I will be able to share many MS anecdotes I collected from various sources in my future posts.
It is indeed a highest tribute one can get...I dont remember anyone calling even "the trios" of the carnatic music by the eight swaram....
